Job description

As a member of the Facilities team, the domestic cleaner will ensure a high standard of cleaning and assist the medical team in maintaining a high standard of infection control. The successful candidate will undertake a range of cleaning duties to provide a high standard of cleanliness tomeet the needs of the hospital. To update cleaning schedules in relevant areas. The duties will include undertaking general cleaning of all areas of the hospital, including but not limited to theatres,ward, bedrooms, reception, offices, floors, corridors, stairwells and toilets.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Domestic Cleaner, you will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing the below:

  • Ensure that areas are cleaned to the highest standards at all times
  • Clean specific areas according to the schedule and specification as instructed
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly
  • Keep cleaning cupboards tidy and stocked at all times
  • Attend to all urgent cleaning and spills when required
  • Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times
  • Report any identified hazards or problems to the Manager / Supervisor
  • Deal with any customer requests promptly and courteously
  • Cleaning experience within Healthcare setting required
  • Morning, Day and Evening shifts

We specialise in the areas of orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, and women's health, but also undertake general surgery. We are seeking a experienced Bank Domestic Cleaner to join our team.

Job responsibilities

Duties to include:

  • Undertake general cleaning of all areas of the hospital, including but not limited to theatres,ward, bedrooms, reception, offices, floors, corridors, stairwells and toilets.
  • Clean specialist equipment following agreed cleaning procedures.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of cleaning materials are maintained and monitoring equipment,tools and stock provided for the job holders use e.g. mops, buckets, floor cleaning machine,cleaning fluids etc.
  • To work in accordance with COSHH guidelinesComplete periodic cleaning as directed to include; carpet shampooing, steam clean fabrics,scrubbing and sealing of floors.
  • To assist the Ward and Theatre staff; as needed, with clinical area cleaning and to provideassistance with Clinical Area deep cleans as required.
  • Inform the facilities Manager of stock required for replenishment purposes.
  • Clean and maintain the tea/coffee station in reception
  • To report any maintenance issues to the facilities manager
  • To complete the cleaning schedule (check list) in all areas
  • To apply green clean sticks to areas once cleaned
  • To adhere to the privacy and dignity policy at all times
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues
  • To attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings as requested
  • To comply with your contract regarding working hours/breaks/lateness/sickness
  • To wear the uniform provided and be responsible for the cleaning of said uniformCompliance with Kinvara Policies and Procedures relevant to this role, ensuring you are fullyaware of your responsibilities within these policies
  • To be aware of your responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerableadults.
  • To ensure you are aware of your responsibilities, supporting policies and undertakethe appropriate level of training for your role.
  • Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act. Ensuring appropriate measures aretaken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff andcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant mandatory training within the specified timescales andundertake any specific role related training.
