Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Domestic Assistant

Monday – Thursday 16:30 – 20:00 pm. Friday – 16:30 – 19:44.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an efficient, high quality domestic service to patients and staff.
  • Clean all areas of our hospital clinical and non‑clinical locations – wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies.
  • Clean fixtures, furniture and toilet/bathroom areas.
  • Follow a specific schedule of work relating to defined areas.
  • Use economic and safe cleaning agents following manufacturers recommended instructions.
  • Use mechanical cleaning equipment when required.
  • Wear protective clothing as supplied by the Department.
  • Complete all daily/weekly sign‑off sheets for areas of work.
