Job summary

A community outreach organization is looking for a Part Time Domestic Abuse Triage Lead/Outreach Worker for a 6–12 month contract. The role involves direct support and advocacy for clients experiencing domestic abuse, offering emotional support, safety planning, and guidance in accessing vital services. Candidates must possess knowledge of domestic abuse, effective communication skills, and a commitment to diversity. The role requires a full driving license and the ability to meet clients in the local area. Hours will total 20 per week, spread over five days.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the issues facing people experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Recent experience of advice work within any voluntary or statutory organisation.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work and manage caseload.
  • Experience of supporting victims of domestic abuse and evaluating risk factors.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical help and emotional support to clients.
  • Contact clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills.
  • Assist clients by making appropriate referrals.
  • Negotiate with third parties as required.
  • Maintain relevant casework records for continuity.
