What you’ll be doing

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offering expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offering guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

• Ability to embrace new technologies

Need To Know

• We are looking for a Dispensing Optician to join us in our Macclesfield practice!
• This position is full time working 5 days per week – the shifts would fall between Monday to Saturday (9am – 5pm) and whilst some weekend working is required in the role, we are open to exploring alternate weekend patterns.
• This 3-testing room practice has a modern, spacious feel as it was recently refitted in 2024 – it sits within a busy, thriving market town high street, so enjoys a varied patient demographic with a high number of private patients.
• You would be joining an experienced team of 12 comprising, 1 part time Dispensing Optician, 1 part time Contact Lens Optician and 5 Resident Optometrists.
• The store is easily accessible with good road links, a train station a short walk away and a number of car parks within 5-10 minutes’ walk of the practice.
