Dispatch Manager- Nights

Our Distribution team is now looking for a Dispatch Operations Manager to lead and optimise our out-of-hours dispatch operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile, fast-growing area of the business where precision and excellence are key. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth overnight operations while driving process improvements and influencing positive change across the team.

About the Role

In this role, you will have complete oversight of our night-time dispatch operations, managing two teams across a 7-night operation. You’ll ensure compliance, health & safety, workflow efficiency, and HR administration, while maintaining Harrods’ exceptional standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll act as a confident leader who can influence and inspire, even in areas with established ways of working.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of 16, ensuring operational excellence and team morale.
  • Overseeing dispatch processes for high-value goods, ensuring accuracy and quality over speed.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and presenting options for operational enhancements to senior leadership.
  • Managing compliance, health & safety, and HR clerical tasks.
  • Maintaining strong communication across the business and influencing stakeholders positively.
  • Ensuring KPIs are met, including timely dispatch and adherence to standards.

About You

You will:

  • Be resilient, professional, and polished, with excellent communication skills.
  • Possess experience in managing operations, ideally with night shift exposure.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify gaps and solutions.
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-value environment where reputation matters.
  • Experience in luxury retail or an understanding of high-end customer expectations is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in dispatch or logistics operations is advantageous but not essential.
