About the Role

The Director of Technology is responsible for shaping and leading their technology strategy to support the University\'s long-term ambitions. You will oversee the operation and continuous development of their technology services, driving digital transformation and ensuring their systems, data, and infrastructure are robust, secure, and future-focused.

As a member of the University\'s leadership, you will play a key role in aligning technology with their strategic objectives, ensuring they deliver innovative solutions that enhance both the student and staff experience.

What You\'ll Do
  • Develop and deliver a forward-thinking technology strategy that supports the University\'s mission and growth.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing technology team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Drive digital transformation projects, leveraging new and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Work in close partnership with departments across the University to understand their needs and deliver effective technology solutions.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of technology services and initiatives.
  • Lead on cyber security, compliance, and data protection, implementing robust governance frameworks and policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service levels to ensure best value and performance.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations, recommending solutions to strengthen our client\'s technology capabilities.
  • Manage day-to-day technology operations, including escalations, outage management, and enterprise communication.
What You\'ll Bring
  • Degree-level education and significant experience in senior technology leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing technology strategies that deliver digital transformation and align with organisational goals.
  • Strong expertise in cyber security, data governance, and compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading large-scale technology projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Hands-on experience in technology deployment, integration, and ongoing management.
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.
  • Proficiency with both Microsoft and MacSuite applications and infrastructure.
