Job Description
  • Lead the finance department and oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support organisational goals and sustainability.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes effectively.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and risk management frameworks are in place.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the finance team, fostering professional development.
The Successful Applicant

Professional Qualification : ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge. Leadership Experience : Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with a coaching style and strong delegation skills. Strategic Capability : Demonstrated experience in shaping financial strategy, managing budgets, and influencing senior stakeholders. Sector Knowledge : Confidence in working within highly regulated environments, ideally with charity governance and SORP experience. Risk & Compliance Expertise : Skilled in risk management, audit processes, and safeguarding responsibilities. Systems & Process Improvement : Experience in modernizing finance systems and driving transformational change. Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication, able to influence and build collaborative relationships with trustees, volunteers, and external partners. Personal Attributes : Values-driven, inclusive, innovative, and highly analytical with strong emotional intelligence and ability to inspire others.
