Job summary

Citygate Volkswagen Ruislip is seeking an Accredited Diagnostic Technician to deliver high-quality servicing and diagnostics across our client vehicles. You will use your technical expertise to diagnose complex issues and mentor junior technicians.

This permanent role offers up to £40,000 basic plus uncapped bonus, ongoing training, access to VW learning centres, and clear progression across our network.

Qualifications

• Level 3 vehicle technician with VAG group background preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service with ability to explain technical info to non-technical users.
• Excellent organisation and time management to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Undertake diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues.
• Conduct electronic visual health checks (eHVC) and provide a detailed report with advice.
• Liaise with customers and service advisors, delivering outstanding service.
• Ensure servicing is safe and high-quality per internal and manufacturer standards.
• Participate in ongoing training to keep product knowledge up to date.
• Contribute to local and company-wide process improvements and innovations.
• Mentor and guide apprentice technicians where applicable.

Role overview

We are seeking an Accredited Diagnostic Technician to assist in providing a high quality and efficient vehicle service offering for our customers. This role will offer you the opportunity to put your technical expertise to use and solve complex technical issues, whilst gaining new skills and exposure to new vehicle models and methods of working. As a Diagnostic Technician you will also provide guidance and coaching to less experienced team members.

Key responsibilities

• Complete scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines


• Undertake diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues


• Conduct electronic visual health checks (eHVC) on all vehicles and provide a comprehensive report with expert advice and recommendations for customers


• Liaise directly with customers and service advisors, providing outstanding customer service


• Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high quality manner, in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements


• Participate in ongoing training and development to ensure product and service knowledge is up to date


• Contribute to local and companywide process improvements and innovations


• Mentor and provide guidance to apprentice technicians, where applicable

About You

As a Diagnostic Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

• You will be a Level 3 qualified vehicle technician ideally with VAG group background


• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail


• A strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience


• Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
