Job summary

Citygate Automotive Ltd is hiring a Fleet Diagnostic Technician to service, diagnose and repair Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for our fleet customers, on-site with our fleet partner.

You will work independently at the customer site, building strong relationships with the fleet team and providing expert technical guidance to ensure VW standards are met.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualified vehicle technician with VAG background.
• Accredited Diagnostic Technician.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Receive work, perform servicing and repairs on fleet vehicles.
• Assess tool/equipment needs and report issues.
• Complete service and repair work to standards.
• Document all repair requirements and authorisations.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and organisation in workshop.
• Undertake vehicle road tests when required.
• Assist with training of other technicians.
• Attend meetings and training programmes as required.

Role overview

As an Fleet Diagnostic Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet customers' Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles performing at their best. This position is based on-site at one of our fleet partners, where you'll carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs exclusively on Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

Working independently on the customer's premises, you'll represent Citygate and the Volkswagen brand with professionalism and pride — delivering the same exceptional service quality we offer in our own workshops. You'll build strong working relationships with the fleet team, provide expert advice, and ensure every vehicle leaves your care meeting Volkswagen's exacting standards.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as a Fleet Diagnostic Technician will be:

• To receive work from the workshop controller and carry out related checks, administration and protection routines
• To assess tool and equipment requirements and communicate any related issues
• To service and repair all vehicles
• To report on all additional repair requirements as they are identified
• To make written and verbal reports on service and repair in the workshop the workshop controller in order to obtain authorisation
• To complete all administrative procedures (including warranty) relating to service and repair work
• To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
• To undertake vehicle road tests when necessary
• To assist with development and training of other technicians
• To attend meetings and training programmes as required
• To perform other duties in support of other team members as required

About You

As an Fleet Diagnostics Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

• You will be a Level 3 qualified vehicle technician ideally with VAG group background
• Be an accredited Diagnostic Technician
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
• A strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
• Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
