Job summary

Pentagon Motor Group is hiring a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician for the Derby VW site. You will diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults, using advanced diagnostic tools and data while ensuring quality workmanship to OEM standards.

The role offers a clear career path within a supportive team, competitive base salary plus potential bonuses, and a 42.5-hour week with some Saturday work. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in a workshop environment.
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points).

On Target Earnings: £44,500 (depending on experience)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Identifying and resolving complex mechanical and electrical faults on customer vehicles.
• Working with advanced diagnostic equipment and technical data
• Ensure accurate assessments and quality repairs are carried out in line with manufacturer standards.
• Support both workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction, while helping to develop the technical capability of the wider team.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified to level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent

• Takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a busy team
• Full UK driving license (max 6 points)

Working hours – Mon – Fri 08.00 – 17.00 + alternate Saturdays 08:00am to 12:00 42.5 hours
