DevOps Engineer - (Contract - Outside of IR35)
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
UK Based London or Basingstoke
Day Rate: £400-500 per day

Key Responsibilities
- Routine Platform Maintenance
- Apply security patches to infrastructure and services
- Perform regular backups and validate backup integrity
- Rotate SSL/TLS certificates and other secrets as required
- Monitor platform health and apply basic remediations
- Infrastructure Hygiene & Upkeep
- Clean up unused or legacy infrastructure components
- Maintain and update internal runbooks and technical documentation
- CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance
- Review and standardise pipeline configurations (GitLab, ArgoCD)
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic build/deploy failures
- Create reusable pipeline templates or automation scripts
- Identify and automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g. Bash, Python)
- Investigation and Troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve back-end and infrastructure production issues
- Troubleshoot technical issues or questions reported by customers
Key Skills
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale
- Excellent external and internal communication skills and team collaboration
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL
- Strong capability with infrastructure with AWS, Kubernetes & Terraform
- Good understanding of DNS, CI/CD workflows and infrastructure as code
- Observability experience (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
- Development experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., Java)
- Diligence, quality-focused, and analytical skills
- Proactive in contributing to organisational success
