Job summary

A local primary school in Staines-upon-Thames seeks a dedicated Designated Safeguarding & Behaviour Lead (DSL). You will oversee the safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring all staff are trained effectively and working with families and agencies for pupil wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have safeguarding training to DSL Level 3 and significant experience working with children. This fixed-term role is for 36 hours a week during term time, offering a collaborative environment and a supportive staff culture.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience of working with children or young people in a safeguarding, support or pastoral capacity.
  • Competent IT skills for reporting, recording and communication.
  • Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee safeguarding and child protection across the school.
  • Offer guidance, support and training to staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Work with families and external partners to promote pupil wellbeing and engagement.
