Qualifications

Design Technology Technician - Secondary School - Manchester

Location: Manchester
Start date: Immediate
Contract type: Full-time, initially for one term with potential for a permanent role
Daily rate: 100- 110 per day (PAYE)
Equivalent salary if made permanent: Circa 25,000 (pro rata)

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in Manchester to appoint a Design Technology Technician to support the DT department. The role is available immediately and will run for at least one term, with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.



About the role:

You will work alongside teaching staff to support the delivery of practical DT lessons. This includes preparing materials, maintaining machinery, and ensuring the workshop environment is safe and organised.



Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing tools, materials, and equipment for lessons

  • Maintaining and operating machinery such as a band saw, lathe, and other workshop tools

  • Supporting staff and students during practical sessions

  • Monitoring and managing stock and supplies

  • Maintaining a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations



Requirements:
