Overview
St Peter’s is looking for an enthusiastic part-time Design and Technology Technician to join our friendly team as soon as possible, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time.
Surrey Pay Scale PS4 £25,052 to £26,825 FTE. 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only (39 weeks per year). Actual salary £20,953 to £22,436.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our workshops and equipment.
- Manage orders and preparing materials.
- Be present in lessons on staff request to support students’ practical work.
About the Design Technology Department
- We currently teach Textiles, Product Design, Food & Nutrition (which has its own dedicated technician) and Architecture. We have a wide range of up to date well maintained equipment with six subject specific teaching rooms.
- We are a friendly, hardworking, positive and passionate team who develop exciting projects and collaborate to share ideas and resources.
About You
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Technician of Design Technology ideally with knowledge of wood and metalworking machinery and techniques.
- A successful applicant will ideally have budgeting and basic IT skills. We are particularly interested in individuals willing to embrace learning new technologies such as CNC equipment, and a technician who thrives working with young people.
