Job Title: Design & Technology Teacher

Location: Ashford, Kent

Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term / Permanent (depending on availability)

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Ashford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and practical DT lessons that foster creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach one or more DT specialisms (e.g. Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Food Technology)
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment, particularly in workshop settings
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress effectively
  • Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular activities
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, health & safety, and safeguarding
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning
  • Good classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply
