Our client:
  • One of the country’s most well-known and successful names in the property development and construction space, with offices across the UK and over 40 years’ experience, multi-million turnover along with being a multiple award winner.
The role:

With a full copy of the Job Spec available on request, the Design Manager will:

  • Have full responsibility for overseeing all project design, always ensuring compliance.
  • Programme and manage the design process from tender stage through to preferred bidder to construction stages with management and influencing skills.
  • Manage design and commercial risk with an eye on making the most of all value engineering opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project teams, CDM coordinator and ensuring all designs meet regulatory and statutory requirements such as Planning Conditions, Building Control and BREEAM.
  • Review and implement requirements with a flair for being cost effective.
The person:
  • Qualification in Construction, Technical Design or related discipline – HND minimum.
  • 3 years minimum working in the construction space.
  • Confident in dealing with clients, site teams and subcontractors; an excellent communicator verbal and written along with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • A record in being able to work on several projects simultaneously, while able to meet deadlines.
  • IT proficiency.
  • Current, valid UK driving licence.
