Our Deputy Site Managers play a key role in helping us grow and succeed. It is their job to ensure that the operation runs effectively and efficiently.
As an experienced senior manager, you will be responsible for managing around 600 employees, both directly and indirectly across a shift operation. In addition, the Deputy Site Manager will be required to deputise for the Site Operations Manager and run a site for periods of time during the operational calendar, with significant budgetary responsibility.
This is a key “hands on” leadership role which supports the Site Operations Manager in the course of the daily operational management. The role entails ensuring all operational efficiency targets are achieved whilst identifying and minimising risk and maintaining a safe environment and high quality standards.
Effective communication and positive relationship building skills are critical, as is the motivation and desire to develop the team in order to achieve success. You will plan and control an effective and productive site through the relevant control of all resources, ensuring all operational deadlines and standards are met. A proactive manager, you will be key in driving change a nd improvement throughout the operation.
Our Warehouses are large, fast paced 24 hour operations, so there will often be a need for you to make quick operational decisions and to use your initiative. Drawing on your previous management experience in a similar role, you will use your extensive operational knowledge to set achievable seasonal targets for your division, whilst ensuring that we maintain a safe working environment and high quality standards. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Trade Unions where required, you will naturally identify and drive continuous improvements to meet our ambitious plans for the future of Next Distribution.
We are looking for a strong and positive leader, able to manage multiple projects, priorities and people. Leading by example, you will be highly motivated, with the vision and capability to see and understand the bigger picture. Alongside your extensive experience of retail warehouse automation in a similar role, you will be an influential manager, instrumental in leading and driving change while consistently striving to exceed the expectations of Next directors, partners and customers.
