A prominent health service provider is seeking a Deputy Quality Manager for its Diagnostic Laboratories, requiring HCPC registration and significant NHS experience. This is an opportunity for an experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to work in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside and North-East Fife and South Grampian.
The Diagnostic Laboratories are based on two sites, at Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School, Dundee and Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth.
We are looking for a member of staff for an exciting new role as part of the Diagnostic Laboratory Quality Team. This is a multi-disciplinary role that covers Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, Point of Care, The Scottish Bowel Screening Centre and Phlebotomy. It is a diverse role that requires someone with excellent personal qualities such as team spirit, initiative, flexibility, a high level of conscientiousness and ability to multi-task and prioritise. The individual must have a passion for Quality Management and Quality Improvement and have excellent understanding of clinical governance and laboratory accreditation.
We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm to personally and professionally develop, as well as being skilled in training and developing others.
Significant experience of working in NHS Diagnostic Laboratories with a good understanding of the requirements of accreditation and regulation (e.g. ISO 15189:2022, MHRA or equivalent) is essential for this role.
The individual must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold an MSc or M-Level Equivalent in a relevant Diagnostic Laboratory subject, hold post-graduate qualifications in Quality Management (or Equivalent) or be working towards this.
Hours of work are: 37hrs per week.
