Overview

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and driven hospital pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at University Hospitals Dorset as our Deputy Lead for Medicine, specialising in Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Renal. This role is being offered as a job share. Full‑time and part‑time working hours will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a clinical pharmacy service to patients across the specialty, working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure the maximum efficacy, safety and value for money of drug therapy while enhancing patient care.
  • Manage weekend shifts 1 in 5 (either Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one Bank Holiday shift per year.
  • Work on a weekend daytime and weekday late‑night service as part of a rota.
  • Support the development of pharmacy clinical services, including implantation of electronic prescribing and administration of medicines (EPMA).
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of the Pharmacy clinical services.
Qualifications
  • Highly skilled and motivated with experience in respiratory, gastroenterology and renal medicine.
  • GPhC Registration required.
  • Substantial experience in clinical pharmacy and leadership roles preferred.
