Are you committed and passionate about SEN Education? Sutherland House School Braithwell is a brand-new independent special school for autistic children and young people aged 3-19. The school is located in the beautiful village of Braithwell.

We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Deputy Head Teacher to join the newly established leadership team. This is a really exciting opportunity to be part of shaping our culture, ethos, and approach right from the beginning and to make a difference for the children that we will teach. This is a role which combines strategic development with operational delivery on a daily basis.

At Sutherland House School Braithwell Positive Behaviour Support and Person-Centred approaches will be of paramount importance and you will be able to contribute to the continued strategic and operational development of this.

We offer small Class groups, high staffing ratios and excellent opportunities for training and continued professional development.

As a member of the school leadership team, you will play a critical role in the translation of its vision into clear objectives that promote and sustain measurable school development; ensuring that the school continuously improves and is aspirational for our students.

You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the SHS Nottingham, Autism East Midlands Board of Trustees and their Senior management team.

You will have responsibility for the defined area of School improvement.

Previous experience with children and young people with autism or teaching in an additional needs environment at any age is desirable but full training and support will be given. We also welcome applications from colleagues who have experience of teaching core subjects.
