The Vacancy

Wiltshire College & University Centre have a great opportunity for a Deputy Head - Health & Life Sciences to join our team.

Location: Cross College/Salisbury, Wiltshire

Salary: £40,876 rising to £42,711 per annum (Deputy Head Grade 1 & 2)

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Deputy Head - Health & Life Sciences - The Role

We are seeking a passionate Deputy Head to join our Health & Life Sciences Faculty. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on our students, staff, and local communities by delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education.

As the Deputy Head, you will work closely with the Head of Faculty, playing a pivotal role in managing and developing our portfolio of courses. Your leadership will be key to ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, whilst responding to the ever-changing landscape of the health and life sciences sector.

Deputy Head - Health & Life Sciences - Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Faculty in leading and managing the Health & Life Sciences team to deliver excellent outcomes for learners.
  • Leading curriculum development, aligning with industry needs and regulatory standards.
  • Mentoring and inspiring a diverse team of academic professionals.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, including the NHS, universities, and local employers, to enhance partnership opportunities.
  • Promoting a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
Deputy Head - Health & Life Sciences - You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified teacher (Level 4 or above) with extensive teaching experience in an appropriate subject area.
  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject or possess significant experience in a related area.
  • A strong understanding of curriculum design, student engagement, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and a student-centered approach.
