Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join our safeguarding team. In this key role, you will support the DSL in all aspects of safeguarding and student welfare. The post holder will work closely with staff, students, families and external agencies. A key part of the role will involve daily triage of CPOMS referrals, assessing risk, signposting to appropriate staff, and ensuring timely and effective action is taken.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Designated Safeguarding Lead in all safeguarding and pupil welfare activities.
  • Daily triage of CPOMS referrals, assess risk and determine appropriate escalation.
  • Signpost to appropriate staff and ensure timely and effective action is taken.
  • Collaborate with staff, students, families and external agencies to promote safeguarding and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance.
  • Calm, confident, and compassionate professional with high organisation, resilience and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and sound judgement.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Experience working with children or young people in a safeguarding or pastoral role is required.
Other Details

Term Time only plus 10 Days (this includes INSET Days / Twilight sessions)

36.25 hours per week, 8.00am – 4.00pm

Salary: Points 24 28 (Actual Salary £30,832 - £34,088)
