Job description
Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist - Paediatric Haemoglobinopathies Band 6

You will be working as part of the paediatric Haemoglobinopathies team, supporting the care of children and young people across ambulatory care settings, in-patient, emergency department, transition to adult services and liaising with local services and aspects of health and social care.

Responsibilities
  • Enhance and extend care for sickle cell patients by delivering high-quality nursing care to paediatric patients with sickle cell disease and other Haemoglobinopathy disorders.
  • Continue to provide, participate and increase access to apheresis services for all eligible children.

Qualifications
  • Proven post-qualification experience in paediatric nursing.
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to contribute to a specialist service.
  • Knowledge of Haemoglobinopathy disorders and apheresis is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
