Nellybells Daycare is a nurturing and inclusive early years setting in Bounds Green, dedicated to supporting children’s development through play, creativity, and curiosity. We provide a loving environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. As part of our mission to deliver outstanding care, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our leadership team.

Role Purpose

The Deputy Manager will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and compliance. You will lead by example, mentor staff, and act as Manager in their absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operational management of the setting
  • Maintain excellent safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety standards at all times
  • Lead by example in creating a warm, stimulating, and safe environment
  • Supervise, motivate, and support a team of early years practitioners
  • Contribute to staff training, mentoring, and performance appraisals
  • Support curriculum planning and ensure high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping (e.g., attendance, accidents, learning journals)
  • Build strong relationships with parents/carers and act as a key person where required
  • Assist with administrative duties, Ofsted readiness, and compliance with policies
What We’re Looking For
  • Level 3 in Childcare (minimum)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an early years setting with some team leadership responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and early childhood development
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and organised approach
  • Pediatric First Aid and Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
