Overview

Depot Manager (Heavy Plant Hire) | Northwich | £45,000 | Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

Are you an experienced leader in plant hire or transport operations? We're looking for a hands-on Depot Manager to run a busy and growing depot for a leading heavy plant company based in Northwich.

Salary: £45,000 per annum | Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm | Location: Northwich, Cheshire

Responsibilities

• Oversee all depot activities including transport, logistics, maintenance, and plant hire operations

• Ensure the safe and efficient movement and servicing of all plant machinery

• Manage and motivate a team of drivers, fitters, and yard staff

• Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries and collections

• Monitor equipment usage, availability, and maintenance schedules

• Maintain high standards of health & safety and compliance across the site

• Report on depot performance, costs, and KPIs to senior management

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Depot Manager, Transport Manager, or Operations Manager role

• Solid understanding of plant equipment and transport logistics

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities

• Knowledge of relevant compliance, HGV regulations, and health & safety standards
