A leading service provider in the East Midlands is seeking a Depot Assistant to ensure smooth operations and maintain health and safety standards. Responsibilities include assisting the trade counter and managing stock levels, while communicating effectively with customers and colleagues. Ideal candidates have GCSEs in English and Maths, a full UK driving license, and a willingness to engage in training programs aimed at career advancement within the organization.
Assist in the smooth running of the depot and undertake work duties instructed by the centre manager.
Maintain the highest levels of health and safety practice including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment where applicable.
Day to day assistance of the trade counter: Maintain sufficient stock levels as per depot stock list. Ensure the depot is kept clean and tidy inside and outside. Liaise with customers and colleagues in a professional manner.
Provide assistance to centre staff within the franchise when requested.
Effectively communicate technical information to engineering personnel.
Successful completion of the company induction and training programmes (based in Birmingham) and subsequent on‑site assessments as requested by management.
GCSE in English and Maths.
Our view of this role is to start a career path within the organisation. Progress will be determined by the application of the individual and rely on a few factors to progress when ready to a mobile service technician position.
Obtain sufficient technical knowledge and understanding of fluid power operations via the exposure to a varied customer base over a sustained period of time.
Successful completion of a residential training course in the Midlands accredited to City and Guilds standard.
Full UK driving licence.
Some individuals stay in this role their whole career, some progress further either to senior engineer / specialist engineer or into management within the organisation.
