Department Administrator

Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about supporting learning and teaching? Join our team as a Department Administrator and play a key role in helping our department run smoothly and efficiently.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for the department, you\'ll provide high-quality administrative and PA support to the Director of Curriculum, Operations Manager, Curriculum Managers, and other staff. You\'ll manage the day-to-day operations of the departmental office, coordinate meetings and events, maintain records, and ensure effective communication across the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and PA support to senior staff.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and presentation materials.
  • Maintain departmental SharePoint and filing systems.
  • Process orders and invoices using College finance systems.
  • Organise meetings, take minutes, and support departmental events.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including students, employers, and schools.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and college policies.
What We\'re Looking For

Essential:

  • HNC in Business or Administration (or equivalent), or significant relevant experience.
  • Excellent IT, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Experience in providing administrative support in a large organisation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:

  • ECDL or equivalent IT qualification.
  • Experience with college administrative systems.
  • Understanding of departmental curriculum and examining bodies.
