Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Patient Co-ordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient appointments, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment while developing valuable office experience.
Our practice, based in the heart of York, is independently owned and provides cosmetic dental care.
Working hours:
35 hours per week over 4 days. 7.45am to 5.30pm.
Starting salary:
Minimum Wage (negotiable for candidate with previous dental experience)
Duties
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments efficiently and accurately
- Greeting patients warmly and assisting with check-in procedures
- Managing patient records and updating information electronically
- Answering phone calls, responding to patient enquiries, and directing calls appropriately
- Coordinating communication between patients and clinicians
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry and handling correspondence
- Ensuring the waiting area remains tidy and welcoming at all times
- Supporting the team with other administrative duties as required to maintain clinic operations
Experience
- Dental background is preferred but medical, administrative or hospitality background will also be considered; training will be provided
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with Dentally Software (preferred but no required; training will be provided)
- Proficiency in using office software programmes such as Microsoft Teams or similar applications
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a professional attitude
- A caring approach with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service
