A healthcare service provider is seeking a part-time Dental Officer to deliver patient-centered clinical dental care in Oban. The ideal candidate must be GDC registered, with experience in general dental services and a commitment to professional development. Salary Scale: Band A- £54,117 - £81,174 (pro-rata)

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Officer to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) based in the Dental Suite in Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban. Duties will involve the provision of patient-centred clinical dental care for the various priority groups which fall within the remit of the PDS, including domiciliary care and treatment. Opportunities for professional development will be available.
Clinical experience of providing treatment to priority group patients is desirable and experience of providing routine general dental services is essential. GDC registration as a dentist, evidence of participation in postgraduate dental education and successful listing with the Health Board is essential. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, while having the ability to deal with difficult situations and challenging patient behaviours in a positive manner will be essential.
As all Dentists are required to join the NHS Highland Dental List, all non UK, EEA nationals will now be required to provide evidence of their knowledge of the English language. NHS Highland has determined this as overall band score of 7 with no section lower than 6.5 from the International English Language Test System.
Driving licence is essential.
