Job description

Overview

We are currently partnered with an excellent business based in the North of Manchester who are looking to onboard a Demand Planner to join their ever-growing supply chain team. They have extremely slick processes in place and are looking for someone who is able to further develop their skills and improve current processes.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting Demand – Analysing historical sales data, market trends, and sales inputs to predict future demand.
• Adjust forecasts when supply or demand conditions change.
• Inventory Management – Setting safety stock levels and modelling inventory to ensure enough stock without excessive overstock.
• Using tools (SAP, IBP, BI etc.) for inventory planning, replenishment strategy, and master data management.
• Order & Supply coordination – Ordering items (from supplier, co-packers, production sites) to match the sales/production plan in terms of timing and quantity.
• Following up on those orders/deliveries to ensure commitments are met.
• Co-packing and raw material planning – Coordinate co-packing activities: making sure co-packers have what they need, schedule aligns, costs are optimised.
• Ensure raw materials replenishment feeds into production or co-packing schedules.
• Reporting & performance analysis – Generate regular reports (forecast accuracy, inventory KPIs, availability, etc.).
• Identify areas of improvement, gaps between forecast vs actuals, propose actions.
• Stakeholder Communication - Provide internal customer teams with status updates on critical products’ availability.
• Work cross-functionally with production, supply chain, procurement, sales.
