Job summary

An international technology solutions provider based in Bedford is seeking a technician for 48V DC power systems maintenance. Responsibilities include conducting planned maintenance, resolving technical issues, and documenting service activities. The successful candidate should have electrical qualifications and experience with power systems. A clean driving license and good organizational skills are essential. This role requires traveling to multiple customers' sites and offers opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• ECS and first aid card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned PMV on power systems across multiple locations.
• Assist with the resolution of technical issues remotely or on-site.
• Complete post-work paperwork and documentation.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Carrying out planned PMV on Vertiv/Emerson 48V DC Power systems across multiple customers’ premises including Vodafone, BT, Virgin Media.
2. Assist with the resolution of technical issues whether remotely or on-site on our Vertiv DC Power Systems.
3. Carrying out assisting with new 48V DC installs/commissioning.
4. After a probation period joining and covering on-call rota 1-7 weeks for DC and Low Power UPS.
5. Oncetrained on 380V HVDC system carrying out maintenance and support across multiple customers’ premises.
6. Assisting when required on battery builds/replacements and testing of UPS systems.
7. To carry out the completion of post-work paperwork and documentation on new DC power systems and maintenance visits.
8. Mobile data centers – Maintenance and callouts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Have previous experience of 48V DC and low-power UPS is an advantage.
2. Have electrical qualifications to 18th Edition desirable.
3. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
4. Working as part of a team and lone working.
5. Self-motivated and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
6. Valid ECS and first aid card desirable.

• Excellent computer skills.
• Previous environmental service experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively.
• Clean valid driving license.
