What You’ll Do
Supporting Young People

  • Help children navigate their day, including education, activities, community outings, and daily living tasks.

  • Use communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and other AAC tools to support non‑verbal or minimally verbal children.

  • Respond confidently and calmly to behaviours that challenge, including spitting, hair‑pulling, hitting, grabbing, or self‑harm.

  • Assist with onboarding and coaching less experienced staff.

  • Provide reassurance, guidance, and leadership during behaviour incidents.
