We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Neath Port Talbot to assist with the appointment of a Data Entry Clerk on a 3‑weeks contract, highly likely to be extended at client’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking a highly diligent and detail‑oriented Data Entry Clerk for a temporary assignment within our Admin & Clerical team. The core of this role is to support the council’s data management processes by accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining critical data across various systems and databases. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining high levels of data integrity and confidentiality. This role involves working with both geographic and tabular data, supporting managers and colleagues, and strictly adhering to established procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately add and maintain data in council systems or spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all platforms.
  • Perform regular data quality checks for completeness and correctness, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Review existing data for errors, redundancies, or inaccuracies, make necessary corrections, and check resulting outputs to validate changes.
  • Adhere strictly to all data protection, confidentiality policies, and organisational best practices.
Qualifications
  • At least 6 months previous experience in a dedicated data entry or administrative role.
  • 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, which must include English Language and a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • NVQ 2 in Business & Administration, IT‑related field, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data entry, sorting, filtering, and basic analysis.
  • Right to work in the U.K.
