OTE Earnings: £95,000 – £100,000

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a global leader in facilities engineering to recruit an experienced Data Centre Contract Manager for a prestigious mission‑critical site supporting one of the world’s foremost investment banking and asset management firms. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, high‑performance environment, ensuring the highest levels of operational excellence and resilience within a 24/7/365 data centre.

In this pivotal role, you will lead a large, skilled engineering team, driving operational efficiency and service delivery within a critical banking facility. Your expertise will be key in maintaining the reliability and availability of high‑voltage systems, critical engineering infrastructure, and building services—fundamental to the client’s business continuity and success.

Your Role & Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead a talented engineering team, driving performance, delivering training, and planning for future succession. Inspire high levels of service excellence and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee 24/7 operational management of the data centre, ensuring continuous availability and compliance with service‑level agreements (SLAs).
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the client organization, identifying opportunities to enhance service offerings and add value.
  • Engineering & Facilities Management: Take responsibility for all engineering, maintenance, and high‑voltage systems, ensuring the critical infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure rigorous adherence to health and safety standards, operational protocols, and regulatory compliance within the high‑security environment.
  • Commercial & Financial Management: Oversee the contract’s commercial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving efficiencies to ensure maximum value and profitability.
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in critical engineering environments—preferably within data centre management or facilities management in mission‑critical settings. You will be a forward‑thinking, proactive leader with the following qualifications and expertise:

  • Expertise in Critical Environments: Extensive experience in managing or engineering high‑availability environments, with a strong focus on critical infrastructure, high‑voltage systems, and data centre operations.
  • Proven Leadership & Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high‑performing engineering teams, delivering both operational excellence and service innovation.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strong track record in managing budgets, contracts, and SLAs, with an eye for driving cost‑effective, value‑adding decisions.
  • Strong Client‑Facing Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build lasting relationships.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid background in building services, facilities management, and critical engineering systems.
