Job description

You must be aged 18 or over to be a Customer Team Leader at Co-op, as you'll need to authorise age-related sales. We're looking for Customer Team Leaders to join our team at Co-op. As a Customer Team Leader, you'll be part of a friendly team dedicated to helping our customers. You'll help lead the store team – coaching and supervising Customer Team Members and deputising for the Store Manager, while delivering great customer service and performing a wide range of tasks around the store (e.g., restocking shelves and cleaning up spillages). We are committed to supporting your physical, mental and financial wellbeing and to providing market-leading policies to help you through life events from bereavement and pregnancy loss to fertility treatment and menopause.

  • Friendly and thoughtful service – provide welcoming, easy, helpful and thoughtful service every day, often taking ownership for managing the store and handling challenging situations
  • Develop your team's capabilities through coaching and training, fostering an inclusive culture where everyone's voice is valued and respected
  • Ensure the store remains safe, legal, and fully operational
  • Manage diligence checks and stock accuracy to make shopping a great experience for our customers
  • Support your store manager by deputising when they're not working and delivering a variety of HR processes
  • Lead the way when introducing new products and services in your store – work closely with your team to implement change and encourage open and honest feedback
  • Build relationships and get involved in your local community, supporting your Store Manager with the delivery of the local Co-op community plan
