Customs and Operations Clerk - Wickford - Permanent - up to £28,000 per annum

We are working with a growing and well established client who is looking to recruit a Customs and Operations Clerk to join their friendly and energetic team based in Wickford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in import and export customs and be part of the daily movement of goods across borders. Our client’s customs team plays a key role in ensuring all import and export activity is compliant with national and international regulations. In this role, you will be right at the heart of the operation, supporting import processes, arranging deliveries and building strong relationships with clients. You will be joining a close knit team where teamwork, support and a positive attitude are genuinely valued.

Our client is happy to train the right person and offers one to one training along with a structured onboarding process to ensure a smooth and confident transition into the role. What You Will Be Doing:
  • Completing customs entries for imports and exports
  • Handling customs queries and audits with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keeping up to date with customs legislation and regulatory changes
  • Monitoring Customs Duty and VAT deferment statements to ensure accuracy
  • Working with stakeholders to resolve issues and keep shipments moving
  • Tracking shipments and providing regular updates to clients
  • Organising collections and deliveries
  • Building strong working relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Managing related administrative tasks such as invoicing
