A leading healthcare provider in Luton is seeking a CT Modality Manager to oversee the operational management of CT staff. The role involves working closely with cross-sectional consultant radiologists, ensuring equipment maintenance, and providing clinical leadership. Candidates should possess a BSc or Diploma in Radiography, postgraduate training at MSc level in CT, and extensive experience at a senior level. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours weekly) with a commitment to patient care and staff wellbeing.

The post holder will have significant years of post-registration clinical experience. It would be highly desirable for the post-holder to have undertaken CT post-graduate study at Masters Level. The post holder will be responsible for the operational clinical management of CT staff, leading the delivery of the CT service and deputising for the Imaging Operational Manager.
He/she will interact with Imaging Department Modality leads to ensure delivery of appropriate and reactive Diagnostic Imaging Services as a whole.
The post holder will assist with organisation of all staff rotation in liaison with the other modality leads. It is envisaged that this post-holder will require 0.4wte administrative time and 0.6wte clinical time in the department.
The post-holder will liaise with a variety of staff throughout the Trust. These will include senior Medical and Nursing staff in all Divisions as well as Clinical Services\' Divisional staff. The key working relationships will be with the Imaging Services Manager, Consultant Imaging staff and Medical physics. The post-holder will also work with non-hospital staff involved in the provision of equipment, materials and services for diagnostic imaging. The post is full time, 37.5 hours per week during the core working hours of Monday - Friday.

To work closely with the cross sectional consultant radiologists to provide a timely and reactive service.
To work with Trust physicists to ensure all equipment are maintained to a high standard and meet QA and H&S requirements.
To ensure that working practices meet current professional standards and legislation (including radiation protection and Health & Safety) and are documented, accessible and regularly reviewed.
To advise on professional and technical changes in order for the department to meet service needs.
To act as Local Radiation Protection Supervisor (LRPS) for the CT Department
To ensure statutory and Trust requirements for record keeping of results are met.
To promote awareness and compliance with policy and or guidelines for the requests of CT services.
To provide clinical leadership for all CT examinations for the trust.
To act as clinical lead when required to educate visitors, as a reference site for a centre of clinical excellence
To act as a point of advice for patient enquiries regarding their referral.
To perform clinical CT examinations to the agreed department standard as appropriate.
To perform clinical work where there is the frequent requirement to exert moderate physical effort for long periods
To maintain a high standard of patient care through good clinical practices.
To maintain knowledge of current trends in CT scanning
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
