Job summary

A well-established company in Southport is seeking an ambitious Accounts Assistant for a temporary-to-permanent role. The position primarily focuses on credit control with the potential to develop into a diverse accounts role. Candidates should be confident and possess strong communication skills; experience in finance is a plus. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM with a half-hour lunch break. This role offers genuine opportunities for career growth within a supportive team.

Accounts Assistant - Southport Temp to Perm - £28k

Are you ambitious, driven, and ready to make your mark in a well-established company based in the Southport area? We're on the lookout for a motivated individual to join our team in a temporary-to-permanent position with genuine opportunities for growth and development.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounts. Initially, your primary focus will be credit control, but for the right candidate, this role can develop into a diverse, all-round accounts position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactive credit control contacting clients via phone and email to manage outstanding debts
  • Maintaining accurate records of all debtor activity using Excel
  • Assisting with account reconciliations and payment allocations
  • Supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day tasks
  • Learning and developing across various areas of the accounts function

Seeking a confident individual who is not afraid to pick up the phone, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be eager to learn and develop within a supportive team. Previous experience in credit control or finance is beneficial but not essential.

Hours of work:
  • Mon Fri 8.30-5pm (1/2hr lunch)
