Qualifications

Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a weekend Courier Driver to join our team based in Norwich and Kings Lynn contract due to continued growth. Contract: Perm/part time - Saturday and Sunday 08:00 - 16:00 (16 hours).

The main purpose of the courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods, pharmacy and diagnostic samples for test between Hospital sites in the Norwich, Norfolk areas. The role requires excellent communication with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards. You will record tasks and items delivered and collected using electronic and paper-based forms, and ensure courier tasks are carried out correctly and to schedule. The role may involve heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, using a tail lift and loading/unloading and moving of roll cages. The role will involve driving vehicles from small vans up to 3.5 tonne Luton vans, which can be driven on the category B part of the UK driving licence.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
  • Complete digital and manual documentation required by legislation and organisational procedures.
  • Maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
  • Ensure all items are kept safe and secure.
  • Comply with the Road Traffic Act and other relevant vehicle legislation.
  • Act as customer contact at delivery points and relay relevant information to the operations office.
  • Complete vehicle checks prior to use and report any defects to the Operations Office.
  • Interact with customers in a polite and courteous manner at all times.
