About The Role
Cost Consultant / Cost Assurance

About these opportunities :

The Infrastructure team at Gleeds are seeking a number of Cost Consultants / Cost Assurance professionals of various levels of experience to work on a wide range of significant assignments in a range of industry sectors in the UK and around the world. We are working on some of the most significant and exciting infrastructure projects and are looking for additional team members to work with us on these projects and to help in the development of the Cost Assurance function.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
  • Provide commercial and financial assurance and verification of costs on a range of projects in different sectors.
  • Analysis and assessment of contractor’s accounting and commercial systems and processes.
  • Prepare risk-based audit and verification plans.
  • Detailed audit and analysis of a range of cost types.
  • Prepare high quality and robust outputs and working papers.
  • Understanding and interpretation of different types of contractual frameworks.
  • Engagement with contractors, clients, regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Preparation of clear and concise reports.
  • Development of forensic technology and analysis tools.
  • Support the Head of Cost Assurance and other senior staff within Gleeds.

About You
Who we’re looking for :
  • Preferred experience of NEC3 / 4 contracts
  • Experience of working with corporate risk and audit functions
  • Experience of cost verification, internal / external audit, financial reviews on significant infrastructure and construction projects
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills
  • Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in data analysis tools such as Power BI
  • Experience of contract management and administration systems
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and / or to lead a team, depending on level
Qualifications :
  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or working towards,
  • Accounting / Auditing experience (AAT, ACA, CIMA etc), or
