Overview

Corporate Solicitor (NQ – 4 PQE) | National UK Law Firm | Bristol. Location: Bristol (Hybrid working). PQE: Newly Qualified 4 years PQE. Sector: Corporate Law, M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital. Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits + Career Progression.

The Team

The Corporate group is one of the most highly regarded in the UK outside of London. You’ll be joining a team of over 50 Corporate fee earners, including 20 Partners – many of whom are Legal 500 “Hall of Fame” and “Leading Individuals”.

The team advises on a full spectrum of transactions – mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, management buyouts, employee ownership trusts (EOTs), development capital, refinancing and exits. Clients range from entrepreneurs and SMEs to multinational businesses and global investors.

There are established specialist sub-teams in private equity, incentives, and international transactions, and a close working relationship with in-house experts in Banking & Finance, Tax, Company Secretarial, and Competition.

The team is also embedded in key sector groups such as Energy & Infrastructure, Healthcare, Automotive, Hospitality, and Logistics.

The Role

This opportunity arises due to strong ongoing growth, particularly in the firm’s newer regional offices in Bristol. As a Corporate Solicitor, you’ll work on a wide variety of transactions, including:

  • Advising clients on acquisitions, mergers, and business disposals
  • Drafting and negotiating key legal documentation
  • Supporting investor-side deals including private equity and venture capital
  • Assisting on international and cross-border deals
  • Managing your own files with increasing autonomy
  • Working closely with Partners and senior lawyers on high-value deals
  • Client-facing responsibility and business development participation

You’ll be given responsibility from day one, with a strong support network and clear progression framework.

About You

We’re looking to speak to Corporate Solicitors from NQ to 4 years PQE, ideally with experience in M&A, investment, or general corporate advisory work. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong technical legal skills and commercial acumen
  • Excellent drafting and communication abilities
  • A genuine interest in building client relationships and business development
  • Previous experience in a recognised Corporate team (regional, national, or City firm)
