Job summary

A UK-based engineering company is seeking an EC&I Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure systems are safe and meet customer requirements. Ideal candidates should have a relevant engineering degree and experience with PLC systems and CAD tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or similar.
  • Experience with PLC / HMI systems and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing EC&I systems from concept to commissioning.
  • Produce and review technical documentation: electrical schematics, cable schedules.
  • Develop PLC / HMI software (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider).

Role Overview

As an EC&I Engineer, you’ll support the design, development, and delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems for complex engineering projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help ensure systems are safe, reliable, and meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing EC&I systems from concept to commissioning
  • Produce and review technical documentation: electrical schematics, cable schedules, panel layouts
  • Control philosophies and functional design specs
  • Develop PLC / HMI software (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider)
  • Collaborate with mechanical and safety teams for integrated designs
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Liaise with suppliers and contribute to design reviews
  • Provide input to project planning and proposals

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or similar
  • Experience with PLC / HMI systems and CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical)
