Job description

Two 12-month contract roles are available supporting contracts and supply chain activity for an Aberdeen-based upstream operator. The positions are aligned to either Wells / Decommissioning or Operations & Maintenance and focus on supporting contract planning and execution, resolving contractual issues, assessing risk, and working closely with procurement, technical, and operational stakeholders. Based in Aberdeen city centre, hybrid working is available on a 4:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the end-to-end contracting process for assigned initiatives.
  • Resolving day-to-day contractual issues for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring adherence to internal contracting processes and good supply chain management practices to optimise value.
  • Applying category management principles across procurement planning, category reviews, and supplier relationship management.
  • Working closely with technical contract owners to optimise contract usability and effectiveness.
  • Interfacing with other contracts advisors and analysts to identify synergies and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting procurement planning activities, including completion of procurement plans and coordination of category reviews.
  • Using e-procurement systems to support purchasing activity and maintain a clear audit trail for contractual records.
  • Assessing contractual, financial, and liability risks associated with supplier agreements.
  • Monitoring supplier performance against contractual obligations and support corrective actions where required.
  • Collaborating with central SCM Teams and providing updates to internal trackers.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost avoidance, productivity improvements, and value delivery.
About You
  • Experience supporting supply chain management operations within the oil and gas sector.
  • Good understanding of the UKCS marketplace and the contracting landscape.
  • Practical experience of commercial modelling, bid evaluation, and tendering activity.
  • Comfortable assessing contractual, financial, and liability risk.
  • Experience using ERP or EAM systems, such as SAP or Maximo.
  • Able to work effectively with a range of internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Organised and methodical, with the ability to manage workload and priorities in line with contracting plans.
