Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Felixstowe is seeking an experienced QC Technician to ensure product quality through rigorous analytical testing. The role emphasizes strong microbiological expertise and requires a background in food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in food manufacturing and effective problem-solving skills. The position offers a full-time 12-month contract at £17 per hour, focusing on maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Background in microbiology is essential.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general computer systems.

  • Carrying out analytical testing in line with agreed work plans and schedules.
  • Producing accurate, valid results and reporting them in a timely manner.
  • Flagging any out-of-spec results or non-conformance immediately.
  • Maintaining competency across all defined lab operations.
  • Following SOPs and world-class operational practices.

Full-time | Suffolk | 17 per hour / 40 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QC Technician to join a busy and fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a key role focused on ensuring product quality through analytical testing of raw materials and finished goods, with a strong emphasis on microbiology.

What you'll be doing
  • Carrying out analytical testing in line with agreed work plans and schedules
  • Producing accurate, valid results and reporting them in a timely manner
  • Flagging any out-of-spec results or non-conformance immediately
  • Maintaining competency across all defined lab operations
  • Following SOPs and world-class operational practices
  • Acting as signatory for your own results and preparations
  • Supporting documentation and certificate release processes when required
  • Providing weekend cover on a rota basis
What we're looking for
  • Background in microbiology is essential
  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification
  • Trained on BRC standards
  • Minimum 2 years experience in food manufacturing or food services
  • Strong problem-solving skills and microbiological expertise
