Job description
Overview

Location: Fully remote – you can be based anywhere in the world.

Hours: Flexible, project‑based delivery.

Fee: £6,000 flat fee.

Duration: Approximately 6–8 weeks across January and February 2026 (start possible in December depending on availability).

Reporting to: Survivor Services Lead.

Deadline: Rolling applications.

We’re looking for a Content Writer / Editor to modularise and refine Bloom’s trauma‑support course content for Arabic and Turkish translation. You will transform existing video‑based scripts into audio‑only modular sessions that can stand alone or fit into guided pathways.

Project Scope

Your brief is to edit and restructure ~27 current course sessions into shorter, standalone modules organised across six thematic areas:

  • Understanding gender‑based violence (GBV)
  • The social and systemic context of GBV
  • The trauma response
  • Emotional processing
  • Boundaries
  • Healing and tools
Responsibilities
  • Rewrite existing English‑language scripts into concise, focused sessions.
  • Adapt video conversation scripts into audio‑only dialogues, reducing average length from ~30 min to ~20 min.
  • Write new introductions and wrap‑ups where needed to make modules self‑contained.
  • Combine multiple existing sessions or create new content where gaps are identified.
  • Maintain consistency in tone, structure and formatting across all modules.
  • Prepare scripts for translation and localisation, optimised for future audio recording.
  • Work within our trauma‑informed design principles and content guidelines.
Your Big Challenge

Take long‑form course content and re‑imagine it as modular building blocks that can stand alone while still forming a coherent healing journey. Balance survivor needs for structured pathways and pick‑and‑choose access while preserving a warm, survivor‑centred voice.

Your Profile

Strong content writing and editing skills, sensitivity to trauma‑related material, ability to restructure and adapt existing materials, and a track record of delivering high‑quality content on deadline.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years in content writing, design or editing.
  • Experience with sensitive topics related to GBV, trauma and mental health.
  • Demonstrated ability to restructure or modularise existing content.
  • Strong editing skills with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Comfortable writing in a warm, accessible, trauma‑informed tone.
  • Experience with long‑form educational or support content.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Independent work with clear deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Slack, Notion, Google Docs and collaborative tools.
Desirable
  • Fluency in Arabic and/or Turkish.
  • Experience in trauma‑informed care and content design.
  • Understanding of survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Knowledge of the mental health sector and therapeutic practices.
  • Experience preparing content for translation and localisation.
Offer & Workload

This is a freelance, project‑based contract. You will deliver the full scope of work within the stated timeframe.

We estimate ~15–22 days of work depending on speed and experience. The flat fee is £6,000 GBP.

We cannot sponsor visas.

Inclusion

We welcome applicants from all walks of life, especially those from the Global South, people of colour, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities and survivors of abuse. We aim to make the recruitment process accessible and supportive.
