Are you a creative and organised digital communications professional with a passion for social media and community engagement?

We are looking for a Content and Community Executive to join BPAS Campaigns and Communications team. You’ll deliver our social media strategy, create content across platforms, and manage online communities, helping grow our audience and strengthen BPAS as a leading advocate for reproductive rights in the UK.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Campaigns and Communications, you’ll lead day‑to‑day social media content creation and community management, deliver a rolling content calendar, produce posts, videos and graphics, and support campaigns and wider communications, including email, website, and influencer partnerships.

About you

You will have experience creating and publishing content for organisational or brand social media channels and moderating online communities. Confident producing content for different audiences, with strong copywriting skills and experience using Canva and video editing tools.

You’ll be organised, creative, and collaborative, with an eye for detail and the ability to use social media analytics to improve performance. A strong understanding of platform best practice, including Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn, is essential, along with commitment to BPAS’s mission and values.

Experience in a charity, healthcare, public sector, or campaigns environment, and knowledge of reproductive health or women’s rights is desirable.

Main duties of the job
  • Develop and deliver a rolling social media content calendar in line with BPAS strategy and values
  • Create high‑quality written, visual, and video content for BPAS platforms
  • Schedule content and maintain a consistent online presence
  • Monitor, moderate, and respond to social media activity with accuracy, empathy, and professionalism
  • Support campaigns, partnerships, and influencer activity
  • Contribute to wider communications activity including email, website, and internal communications
  • Work collaboratively across teams to ensure content aligns with organisational priorities

Location

Hybrid - 4 days working from home. 1 day working from 10 Union Street, SE1 1SZ London

Salary

£34,688 - 37,207 per annum depending on skills and experience. This salary is inclusive of Inner London Weighting.

Hours

36 hours per week | Monday to Thursday 09:00‑17:00 and Friday 09:00‑15:30

Experience
  • At least 1 year experience in a social media, content, or digital communications role creating and publishing content for organisational or brand social media channels, and managing or moderating online communities or public‑facing channels.
  • Experience working in a charity, healthcare, public sector, or campaigns environment.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics.
  • Understanding of platform‑specific best practice (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn).
  • Strong skills in Canva and video editing tools.
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to interpret social media analytics and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple pieces of content and deadlines.
  • Basic photography or filming skills using mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health or women’s rights issues.
Qualifications
  • English and Maths qualification either GCSE A to C or Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE 4* or NVQ level 2
