About the Team:

Consultant Social Worker/Lead Practitioner (Children With Disabilities Team).

We are seeking a part time (18.5hrs) Consultant Social Worker/Lead Practitioner for our 0-18 Children With Disabilities service, although our service is county wide the post will be primarily East based (covering Rugby and vicinity).

Now is an exciting time to be part of our team as Warwickshire begins to embed our Families First teams who support the young people in our County. Our approach is about locality working, multi disciplinary and multi agency teams that support the whole family. Building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education.

About the Role:

We are recruiting for the role of a part time (18.5 hrs) Consultant Social Worker in our Children With Disabilities Team covering Rugby and vicinity.

Details of the role

  • To support Children's Social Work Practice, to ensure delivery of high-quality assessments and support to children and their families.
  • To assist Team Leader in the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of services to Children and Families in accordance with Warwickshire Children and Families’ Policies and Procedures.
  • To supervise the practice and decision-making of child and family staff, and to develop the skills of individuals and teams within children and families.
  • To be responsible for mentoring, supervision and support to social workers and family support staff.

Key Requirements:
  • Experience of supervising students or mentoring colleagues.
  • Completion of Assessed and Supported Year of Employment ASYE, EPD Early Professional Development (EPD) programme, Enabling Others and Teaching and Assessing for Professional practice (TAPP) to underpin substantial experience.
  • Alternative qualifications/routes which can demonstrate substantial experience, learning and reflection will be considered.
  • Non-disabled applicants must be able to drive, have a full, valid driving licence and have a vehicle available for work. Disabled applicants must be able to travel to perform the functions of their role (with assistance where necessary).
  • To be computer literate and operate a range of information technology systems to meet service need in relation to the social work role.
  • The role may require at times weekend or out of hours working.

Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
