Job description

Overview

We require an enthusiastic Consultant Radiologist to join our team of 23 Substantive Consultant Radiologists. The appointee will be primarily based at either Eastbourne DGH or Conquest Hospital Hastings although this may change dependent on service need.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in teaching with four radiology trainees on rotation from HEKSS deanery.
• Audit and other continuing professional development activities are positively encouraged.
• First line on call is provided by a Specialty Registrar or Specialty Doctor radiologist until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends with on call outsourced to a reporting company overnight.
• Daytime cover is also provided for a malignant cord compression MRI at weekends on the same 1 in 8 rota.
• The General Radiology consultant team is responsible for checking scans the following day to ensure quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota.

Qualifications

• Applicants should demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in General Radiology, Radionuclide and lower GI Radiology.
