Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Consultant Psychologist for HMP & YOI Feltham. The closing date is 06 October 2025.
We are looking for applications from motivated psychologists who are committed to delivering and leading high-quality trauma-informed care and treatment. We are recruiting to two roles that could also be taken together: 0.2 wte Consultant Psychologist in HMP Feltham B (adult male estate) and 0.6 wte Consultant Psychologist YOI Feltham A (Children and Young People). Potential candidates may apply for either one or both roles. These roles will run until the end of December 2026.
We are proud of the diverse services we offer in our healthcare provision to men and children detained in HMP/YOI Feltham and invite applications for this consultant role which will oversee and support the provision and development of our mental health services in Feltham A and B. In addition, the role in Feltham A includes leadership for the Sexual Behaviour service, the Enhanced Support Unit and Clinical Leadership for SECURE STAIRS (Framework for Integrated Care designed to engage and meet the complex needs of the children in HMP/YOI Feltham A).
We are keen that this role supports our mental health provision including the group and individual therapy offer at HMP/YOI Feltham and actively supports the implementation of service models which include Secure STAIRS for Feltham A and provision of mental health InReach services in Feltham B.
The duties of the role include supervision, service consultation and utilising expertise to personally deliver therapy and assessments as well as supporting continued professional development of our teams. You will join the trust-wide H&J Consultant Psychologist team and hold shared responsibility with the group for the governance of our services and you will contribute to the shaping of Health & Justice services. At HMP/YOI Feltham you will be part of our healthcare's senior management team and contribute to the health interface with the wider prison and development of this service.
By joining CNWL's Health & Justice Directorate you will be joining a large department of psychologists and psychological therapists that provide an array of mental health and OPD services. HMP/YOI Feltham is easily accessible from London and there is free on site parking for staff.

To lead, manage and plan the delivery of a highly specialist psychology and psychotherapy service according to service models (including Secure Stairs for Feltham A) to the men and children detained in HMP/YOI Feltham and provide expert clinical input.
To be responsible to the Lead Psychologist of Health & Justice Directorate for the monitoring and implementation of professional standards in the practice of applied psychology and psychotherapy in HMP/YOI Feltham and for the systematic and effective provision of professional supervision.
To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
To ensure the conduct of research, service evaluation and audits relevant to the delivery of psychology and therapy services in HMP Feltham B and YOI Feltham A and the Trust/specialty research agenda
To be responsible for the good clinical governance, quality and appropriateness of the work of psychologists and psychotherapists in HMP/YOI Feltham.
