Are you an Intellectual and Developmental Disability Psychiatrist looking to move to the Wide Bay Region in Queensland? This role can be situated at Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, or Maryborough Hospitals.
You will be required to provide expert Psychiatric care assessment and management of patients with an intellectual disability or on the autism spectrum. Provide professional leadership in the area of Mental Health within a multidisciplinary environment.
This role will predominantly be a Consultation Liaison role to community and inpatient teams and may also include a small cohort of direct patient care, as part of an Intellectual and Developmental Disability team.
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified) or New Zealand.
The Medical Board of Australia is establishing a new expedited pathway to specialist registration, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification. The list of accepted qualifications will be published shortly, with the new pathway available from December 2024.
